Phase 1 (months 1 - 2)

  • Initial version of Recovery Action Plan

  • Weekly coaching sessions

  • Establish a home group and get a sponsor

  • Attend multiple 12-step meetings weekly, per plan

  • Begin to work the 12 steps

  • Establish regular prayer and/or meditation practice

  • Read the Big Book of AA, cover-to-cover

  • Complete Step 4 by day 60

  • Progressing per plan in action & attitude

Phase 3 (months 5-6)

  • Advanced version of Recovery Action Plan

  • Progressing per plan in actions & attitude

  • Complete Step 9 amends

  • Mentoring new guys at the house

  • Prepared for your first sponsee

  • Showing leadership and service at the house

  • Practice Steps 10 and 11 daily

  • Active in the Austin recovery community

Phase 2 (months 3-4)

  • Intermediate version of Recovery Action Plan

  • Weekly coaching sessions

  • Actively working the 12 steps

  • Begin Step 9 amends

  • You are active in your home group - regular attendance, calling members, creating relationships, becoming known

  • Reading recovery literature, per plan

  • Progressing per plan in behavior & attitude

Phase 4 (months 6 and up)

  • The Fourth Dimension version of the Recovery Action Plan will reinforce the daily practice of the AA principles

  • Sharpen focus on Steps 10, 11 and 12

  • Lead Step 11 group activities at the house

  • Demonstrate spiritual leadership in the house

  • You are sponsoring others

  • You are doing service work at the house and in the local recovery community

  • You help organize and promote fellowship activities

  • All your relationships are improved
